It's been a crazy weekend for live music: Lyn-Lake Fest, concerts and Art-A-Whirl music all across town. Hopefully you were able to get out and see some live music for yourself.

It's the last few hours of Mother's Day, so if you haven't done so yet, give your mom a thank you. I'll be tossing in some songs about moms in the next few hours to give moms a little more love.

It was a fun weekend if you want to check out live bands, puppets and pinatas, so hopefully you were able to enjoy some of those.

On this weekend's Local show Andrea Swensson kicked Dave Campbell out of the driver seat and made the Local Show an all-girl rock-a-thon. I was enjoying the mix of female musicians so much that I decided to keep it going.

I spent this past Saturday running around with The Morning Show's Jill Riley trying to hit up as many record stores as possible for Record Store Day. We grabbed a few handfuls of records, said hi to people waiting in line and even got to check out a couple of live acts. The live music scene in Minnesota is wonderfully diverse and this weekend was a great showing of that with huge lineups of local bands at every record store across the state.
