IT’S GIVE TO THE MAX DAY!!!! The Minnesota tradition started in 2009 to mark the launch of the digital giving platform GiveMN.org. So far, the Giving Day has raised more than $300 million to support nonprofits and schools across the state.

In honor of this day of donating, let’s highlight musicians with a generous spirit. While some like to support causes privately, others have created nonprofits or donated publicly to support a community. Today, let’s say “thank you” with song!

As you think about what nonprofit organizations to support on Give to the Max Day, we hope you keep this public radio station in mind. You can support music discovery and a thriving Minnesota music scene by becoming a member of The Current.

So for today’s 9:30 Coffee Break, what songs by musicians with a history of philanthropy would you like to hear?
