Each year, from November 7 to 13, the National Book Foundation holds National Book Award Week. The non-profit foundation’s mission is to celebrate the best literature published in the United States, to expand its audience, and to ensure that books have a prominent place in our culture. Authors are nominated across five categories — fiction, nonfiction, poetry, translated literature, and young people's literature.

Two Lifetime Achievement Awards will also be given out at this year’s awards ceremony, which will be streamed online on November 20. The event will be hosted by comedian, actress, and bestselling author, Kate McKinnon, and features musical guest Jon Batiste. Today, let’s celebrate books with music!
