Today (Wednesday, Oct. 23) is Public Radio Music Day. It’s a day when people across the country celebrate the unique role public radio plays in bringing people together through the power of music. Special programming on The Current includes live sessions and performances by Brigitte Calls Me Baby, Sierra Ferrell, Guster, Laufey, Black Pumas, and Bartees Strange.

Public radio supports local artists, fosters music discovery, and connects communities from coast to coast to ... no coast! It preserves cultural heritage, amplifies diverse voices, and strengthens community bonds, all while delivering noncommercial, listener-focused programming.
