In case you missed it, Earth now has a tiny, but temporary, mini-moon. According to Scientific American, the moon is a small asteroid named 2024 PT5 that was pulled into Earth’s orbit in late September and will stay with us until the end of November. 2024 PT5 is too small to see with a telescope, but it got us thinking about how this relates to music.

Usually an EP, or extended play, has fewer songs and a shorter run time than a standard album. Artists release EPs for many reasons. Maybe it’s to put unreleased songs into the world, to test out new material, or to express something different. Whatever the reasoning, the EP is a valuable piece of an artist’s catalog, and it’s a mini version of an album. Just like 2024 PT5 is a mini version of our moon. today, let’s create a playlist highlighting songs from some of our favorite EPs!

So for today’s 9:30 Coffee Break, what songs from your favorite EPs would you like to hear?
