There might be nothing that divides music fans more than their thoughts on the use of Auto-Tune. The pitch correction software hit the market on this day back in 1997 and soon became mainstream ... especially after Cher hit No. 1 on the charts with her song “Believe.”

In the years since, Auto-Tune has solidified its way onto playlists and has found a permanent place in pop culture. Today, let’s examine this phenomenon with music!
