Hispanic Heritage Month recognizes the achievements, culture, history, and contributions of people who are Hispanic and those with roots in Latin American countries. The observance started as Hispanic Heritage Week in 1968, and was later extended to a full 30 days by President Ronald Reagan. Each year, festivities kick off on September 15 and run through October 15.

Meet Minneapolis put together a list of places where you can celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month in the Twin Cities, and you can also learn about music from Latin artists in the El Tiny concert series and Alt.Latino podcast from NPR Music. Today, we’re going to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with music!

So for today’s 9:30 Coffee Break, what songs from artists who are Hispanic or Latino would you like to hear?
