We are proud and excited to announce the soft launch of a new online stream supported by The Current called Ritmofonica!

Our tagline: Tu Música, Tu Cultura/Your Music, Your Culture

Ritmofonica is a bilingual online streaming service from The Current that will highlight the music, perspectives, and culture of the Latin American community in Minnesota and beyond. The team behind Ritmofonica is working hard to execute the final vision, coming in 2025, which will include segments with community members, DJ sets with local DJs and curators, shows, news, and much more. This is just a small taste of what is to come!

Timed with Latin American/Hispanic Heritage Month, the soft launch is now live. A more-than-50-hour nonstop music stream is up until Tuesday, Oct. 15. Ritmofonica includes music from all over Latin America and its diasporas, from every genre and generation. Tune in to hear all your favorite oldies, rock en español, salsa, cumbia, pop, bossa nova, reggaeton, hip-hop, electronic and everything in between.

The team behind Ritmofonica is Natalia Toledo (The Current), Raul Escobar (MPR), and Ines Guanchez (YourClassical). With extra special thanks to Nikhil Kumaran (MPR) and in collaboration with Miguel Vargas from KFAI (Radio Pocho).

Ritmofónica es un servicio de transmisión en línea bilingüe apoyado por The Current que busca resaltar la música, perspectivas y cultura de la comunidad Latinoamericana en Minnesota y mas allá. El equipo de Ritmofónica busca ejecutar su visión final del proyecto, estimado para el 2025, lo cual incluirá segmentos con miembros de la comunidad, sets de DJ hecho por músicos y curadores locales, programas, noticias y mucho más. ¡Esto es sólo una pequeña muestra de lo que viene en el 2025!

Coincidiendo con el Mes de Herencia Latinoamericana/Hispana, el primer lanzamiento ya está disponible e incluye más de 50 horas de música que estará disponible hasta el 15 de octubre. Ritmofónica incluye música de toda América Latina y sus diásporas, de todos los géneros y generaciones. Sintonízate para escuchar los clásicos, rock en español, salsa, cumbia, pop, bossa nova, reggaetón, hip hop, electrónica y mucho más.
