Lighthouses have an important goal. They shine a bright light to help those on water find their way. Lighthouses are so important that they even received their own act of Congress.

The act for the “establishment and support of Lighthouse, Beacons, Buoys, and Public Piers” was approved on this day back in 1789, and 200 years later (to the day!) the beacons of light were finally granted their own special day. In the spirit of National Lighthouse Day, let’s celebrate the lit-up landmarks with music!

So for today’s 9:30 Coffee Break, what songs about lighthouses or relating to light would you like to hear?
