Every year, neighbors nationwide gather during National Night Out to get to know each other, familiarize themselves with the community, and learn more about their community’s first responders. Often coinciding with a block party, the event has become a tradition, and you can join in on the fun with celebrations across the Twin Cities metro.

Head to Union Depot in Saint Paul for live music, food trucks, and a chalk art area; or to downtown Minneapolis for fun activities, food, live music, kids’ activities, a fire truck and the MPD Mounted Police. There are also celebrations in Hastings, Lake Elmo, West St. Paul, Stillwater, Cottage Grove, and more.

But before you get ready for all of that community building, let’s prepare for National Night Out with music!

So for today’s 9:30 Coffee Break, what songs about being neighborly or meeting new people would you like to hear?
