Tuesday night, Madonna takes the stage at the Xcel Energy Center as part of her much-anticipated The Celebration Tour. The show had originally been set for July 30, 2023, and was rescheduled to this evening … although the exact time Madonna will take the stage is the subject of much public debate and speculation.

The precise timing of the concert, however, is not what we’re focusing on this morning. What’s fascinating about Madonna is that over the course of her four-decade career, she has taken several forms; for example: the winking naiveté of Like A Virgin; the happy-go-lucky pop of True Blue; the conflicted piety of Like A Prayer; the trend-forward, dance-heavy “Vogue”; the unabashed eroticism of “Justify My Love.”

Madonna has clearly morphed several times over the arc of her career, but she hasn’t cornered the market on being a cultural and career chameleon. There are many artists who have excelled at reinventing themselves — whether their sound, their appearance, their artistic approach, or all of the above. Let’s celebrate the music of those artists.

So for today’s 9:30 Coffee Break, what songs by shape-shifting artists do you want to hear?
