On the morning of Monday, Jan. 24, 2005, Minnesota Public Radio’s The Current began broadcasting. The first song that aired was “Say Shh…” A hidden track off Atmosphere’s album, Seven’s Travels, “Say Shh…” celebrates being from Minnesota.

As we look back on what is now 19 years of The Current, let’s turn back the clock a bit to hear some songs released during the first year of The Current’s existence. Top 89 didn’t begin until the following year, but there are clues about which songs were among the audience’s favorites back in ’05.

So for today’s 9:30 Coffee Break, what songs from 2005 do you want to hear?
