Monday night, Elton John won an Emmy Award in the category of “Outstanding variety special (live)” for Elton John Live: Farewell From Dodger Stadium. While this win was certainly one more accolade in an illustrious career filled with well-deserved honors, this particular award ushers Elton John into the very special group to have earned an EGOT — that is, those people who have won an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony Award.

Because the EGOT spans a breadth of creative fields, we know we can celebrate this pantheon of performers with music they themselves have recorded or with music that has been included in their work; for example, in a soundtrack to a film.

So for today’s 9:30 Coffee Break, what songs do you want to hear that are performed by or that reference the work of EGOTs?
