Heading into this past weekend, MPR News Meteorologist Ron Trenda advised, “Your warmest coat and mittens will be appropriate attire this weekend.”

Indeed, temps dropped to the teens below zero in western and northern Minnesota, with single-digits below zero in the metro area and southeastern Minnesota. After a slow-starting winter, the cold temperatures finally arrived in the Twin Cities and throughout Minnesota.

With that in mind, we were reminded that there are a lot of songs that talk about cold — whether physical or metaphorical. So while we bundle up to stay warm, let’s embrace the cold with music.

So for today’s 9:30 Coffee Break, what songs that mention “cold” do you want to hear?
