The Winter Solstice occurs on Thursday, Dec. 21, 2023, at 9:27 p.m. Central Time; today is the shortest period of daylight we’ll experience — followed by the longest night of the year.

Let’s mark this important point in the yearly calendar the best way we know how — with music. There are many possibilities, be they winter songs, songs about Solstice activities, songs about short days and/or long nights. It’s up to you.
