Coffee Break: Twin/Tone Records
by Jill Riley
November 17, 2023
It has been a big week for Twin/Tone Records here in Minnesota. This Sunday, The Local Show host Diane will be airing her interview with Peter Jesperson — co-founder of Twin/Tone and Twin Cities music industry veteran. Jesperson recently released a new memoir, Euphoric Recall: A Half Century as a Music Fan, Producer, DJ, Record Executive, and Tastemaker. Here’s a review of the book. Diane will join Jill today at 9:05 a.m. to discuss.
Known for his prominence in the Twin Cities music scene alongside discovering, signing and managing the Replacements, other notable acts of his include the signings of The Suburbs, Soul Asylum, Babes in Toyland and so many more.
Also, to mark a vinyl reissue of Twin/Tone’s 1979 compilation Big Hits of Mid-America Volume Three, The Hypstrz, Curtiss A, Suicide Commandos, Fingerprints, and Yipes! are performing at Hopkins Center for the Arts on Saturday, Nov. 18.
Today, Let’s hype ourselves up by curating a playlist containing artists/bands signed to Twin/Tone Records.
