Coffee Break: Mulligan Day
by Mac Wilson
October 17, 2023
Today is National Mulligan Day — a holiday inspired by golf’s do-over stroke. The day encourages people to give second chances and/or rekindle old passions and hobbies.
The term Mulligan originated in the early 20th century when Canadian golfer David Mulligan asked for, and was given, a second chance at hitting his tee shot after missing the first time. Ever since, calling a Mulligan has been synonymous with a redo.
Let’s build a playlist that best represents the spirit of a Mulligan and list some songs that are about starting over, or giving second chances. Need more of a challenge? Songs that have a false start (they start, stop, and restart again) are fair game as well.
For today’s 9:30 Coffee Break, which songs about starting over/redos do you want to hear?
