This week hear new songs from Bakar, Chance Peña, Marika Hackman, TORRES, Raffaella, and gglum.

Bakar — “All Night”

Bakar always feels like an artist on the cusp, with songs popping up to soundtrack various fashion weeks around the globe and songs going viral on social media. His new album, Halo, just came out and continues his blend of indie alternative and British soul. His Bloc Party-esque vocal delivery is the best it's been on, "All Night."

Chance Peña — “i am not who i was”

Texas native, Chance Peña has a soft day-dream heavy sound. It's for late nights and solo road trips full of introspection. His latest, "i am not who i was," feels like a written from life story of a road warrior who's missing a taste of home.

Marika Hackman — “No Caffeine”

The first song in four years from Marika Hackman is full of piano, chugging drums, and the sinister thread of strings circling to rachet up the anxiety. Hackman said that, "'No Caffeine' is a list of what to do to avoid having a panic attack and looking at my anxiety as an abusive partner."

TORRES — “Collect”

“The rage song I’ve been trying to write for years,” is how Georgia musician TORRES describes her new song, "Collect." The synthy new song will be on her new album, What an Enormous Room, which will be out January 26. It's a song about the conviction that you've been wronged and looking for justice.

Raffaella — “Man of Your Dreams feat. Samia”

The newly Minnesota based musician, Raffaella, has a sweetness in her voice as she tears down all the patriarchal demands from society wither that's being blonde and empty headed or how to be the perfect little dream partner in her latest song, "Man of Your Dreams feat. Samia."

gglum — “SPLAT!”

A new lo-fi project from singer-songwriter Ella Smoker, aka gglum, called, "SPLAT!" is her first after signing with Secretly Canadian. She wrote the song to deal with "a bunch of feelings [she] had around a complicated relationship, where it feels like nothing really happens and no one makes a move but you’re constantly thinking about it."
