Coffee Break: Big fall album reissues
by Jill Riley
September 13, 2023
This fall, a whole bunch of timeless albums are lined up to be reissued for us all to enjoy this fall. For example, we can expect to see a reissue of The Replacements’ Tim on Sept. 22. There are also 30th-anniversary reissues of Nirvana’s In Utero and Prince’s Diamonds and Pearls coming Oct. 27. Both Haim’s Days Are Gone and CHVRCHES’ The Bones of What You Believe are celebrating their 10th anniversary with reissues as well.
Reissues often celebrate big anniversaries of an album’s original release, and can feature a new remastering of the work, special vinyl packaging, b-sides, rarities, and live tracks. Basically, there are usually some goodies to entice people who already own a copy, and some artifacts to bring new context to the originally released work.
Think about all of the releases you’re excited to revisit. Whether its an all-time classic, or an obscure deep cut, let us know!
