Coffee Break: Blue moon
by Jill Riley
August 30, 2023
A rare blue supermoon will be visible in the sky tonight, making it a truly unique week for astronomy lovers. However, for those expecting to see a bright blue moon in the sky, don’t get your hopes up. The term “blue moon” has nothing to do with its color. When a full moon appears more than once in a month it is donned the title of “blue.” Because we already had a supermoon earlier this month, that leaves us with a blue supermoon. Make sense?
For this “once in a blue moon” event, let’s pick out some songs to pay homage to the world’s biggest nightlight.
For today’s 9:30 Coffee Break, which songs about the moon do you want to hear?
