Atlanta rapper — and half of Run the Jewels — Killer Mike gave a thunderous performance on Monday at First Avenue. The show featured boomingly beautiful gospel choir accompaniment.

Local rapper Dwynell Roland, and world-traveling Trackstar the DJ opened for the rapper. Roland’s stage presence was infectious, as he engaged with the crowd and often initiated a call-and-response back and forth throughout his set. After Roland’s performance, Trackstar kept the vibe going, playing hip-hop classics to get the crowd’s mood just right.

When Killer Mike came on stage, he was greeted by the crowd’s cheers like a wave of energy. The rapper fed off of it. His energy was at a high all night long, dancing, smiling, and laughing throughout the set.
