After Minnesota has lost some of the summer festival staples in recent years, TC Summer Fest is keeping the live music festival experience alive. Billed as “the rock event of the summer,” the inaugural two-day festival will bring musicians and fans together at Target Field July 14-15.
The home stadium of the Minnesota Twins has hosted several summer concerts since its opening in 2010, including numerous country and classic rock performers. Now, the stadium is hosting a modern rock festival for fans of all ages. The nearly 40,000-seat stadium will feature a lineup of modern rockers to create a unique festival experience in the heart of downtown Minneapolis organized by the Twins and Mankato promoter and former leader of Twin Cities Summer Jam Jerry Braam.
General admission gates open at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, July 14, with Minneapolis-based indie rock outfit Yam Haus kicking off an evening of alt-rock. Dream pop Cannons follows, with long-time indie rock heavy hitter Death Cab for Cutie, psychedelic rockers the Flaming Lips, and Las Vegas-based alt-rock group the Killers. For the Killers, the performance comes one night after an intimate warm-up at First Avenue, and is par of their first Twin Cities visit since their Xcel Energy Center performance in support of their 2022 release, Pressure Machine.
Gates once again open at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 15, for a pop-heavy evening of music. TALK begins the show, followed by Em Beihold and Chelsea Cutler. Pop-rock chart-toppers Imagine Dragons will wrap up the festival, bringing their signature thunderous electro-dance-pop sound to Target Field. It’ll be the first time they’ve been back to the Twin Cities since their performance at the Target Center in early 2022. Also hailing from Las Vegas, the band has been honored with multiple American Music, Billboard Music, Grammy, MTV Video Music, and World Music awards, and sold more than 75 million albums worldwide.
While originally announced in the Saturday line-up, New York-based trio AJR will no longer be performing after canceling a series of performance dates due to family illness. The replacement act is Oliver Tree.
Tickets start at $39 for a single-day ticket, and $66 for a two-day pass. Fans can choose from seats across the stands as well as pit seats on the field to create their own festival experience. All TC Summer Fest general admission tickets can be combined with a VIP add-on, divided into the MVP, All-Star, and Hall of Fame tier. The VIP ticket tier offers fans unique amenities and access to the festival, including early access to the stadium, early merch shopping, food and drink deals, and commemorative festival gear.
