Yesterday we had some fun with Jangle Pop songs. As previously noted, Jangle pop is a subgenre of pop rock that emphasizes jangly guitars. The term was coined after the Byrds covered Bob Dylan’s song “Mr. Tambourine Man”. As we delved into the world of jangle pop, we started thinking about other onomatopoeias in music.

The word onomatopoeia is defined as “the formation of a word from a sound associated with what is named (e.g. cuckoo, sizzle).” Let’s build a playlist of songs that use words to imitate sound! For today’s 9:30 Coffee Break, what onomatopoeia songs do you want to hear?
