Album of the Week: Jack White, 'Fear of the Dawn'

Jack White is big concept guy – it’s why the White Stripes had such a clear vision and aesthetic. You can’t picture the band without the colors of black white and red popping in your mind. There’s Third Man Records – not just a label, but a location and a brand – yellow and black.
That singular focus and drive has been harnessed this year into not one, but two records – a seemingly country-flavored one coming this summer called Entering Heaven Alive.
And the gut-busting, kitchen sink indulgent rocker Fear of the Dawn. This is Blue-haired, full-throttle White 100% committed to melting faces. It’s testosterone and swagger and heavy licks.
