We’re kicking off December with new songs from Bloc Party, FKA Twigs and Ibeyi, and we’ve got some new sounds for you to discover from Los Angeles artist NoSo; Austin, Texas artist Rajinee; and from Minnesota’s Adam Bjoraker, who operates under the artistic (and amusing to locals) moniker St. Anthony Mann.
Bloc Party, “Traps”
Bloc Party come back onto the scene with a ferocious new track, "Traps." The first song from Alpha Games (out April 29) has gritty industrial club grime pumping and throbbing while lead singer Kele Okereke's vocals beg to be "your contact high."
FKA Twigs, “Measure of a Man”
This screams James Bond theme song, so it makes sense that it's going to be on a movie soundtrack. The latest one-off from FKA Twigs, "The Measure of a Man” feat. Central Cee is dramatic and bass heavy. The addition of Central Cee's rap updates the 007 vibes.
NoSo, “Suburbia”
"Moms power walk and gossip/ about teenagers" in "Suburbia," the new single from Los Angeles-based artist NoSo, looking back on her days growing up in a Chicago suburb in a dreamy and warm haze while the lyrics lament on not fitting in.
Rajinee, “Catcall and Response” feat. Ol Black Stooge
Rajinee, an up and coming artist from Austin, Texas, has created a catchy jam talking about verbal harassment.
St. Anthony Mann, “Godsleep” feat. Pieta Brown
The project of Adam Bjoraker, aka St. Anthony Mann, is contemplative and as calm as a breeze flowing through the tall midwestern prairie grass. The latest song, "Godsleep” feat. Pieta Brown, brings in the views of nature and the cycle of all things to address some of life's big questions.
Ibeyi, “Made of Gold” feat. Pa Salieu
Twin sisters, Lisa-Kaindé and Naomi Diaz, bring in British rapper Pa Salieu for a new song, "Made of Gold," the first song from a new album that will be out sometime in 2022. The duo say the song "is about connecting to our ancestors' knowledge, to the truths of the past and the power of the ancient. "
