New music video from Erik Koskinen puts you in the driver’s seat

Singer-songwriter Erik Koskinen has released a new song, “Down in the Factory.” The song unabashedly and simultaneously celebrates and laments a working-person’s life, and the song itself brings listeners right into the grind with a driving beat topped with crunchy, dirty-blues guitar. Koskinen’s vocals rattle matter-of-factly over the top with the oft-repeated titular refrain, “Down in the Factory.”
In keeping with the workaday theme, Koskinen invites you right into his work, providing a driver’s point-of-view from the cabs of various work vehicles, including farm machinery, a dump truck and a pickup, likely shot with a smartphone. (Please don’t try this yourself.)
Koskinen will perform on Friday, Nov. 19, at 7:30 p.m. at the James Ballentine “Uptown” VFW Post 246 in Minneapolis. Singer-songwriter Becky Kapell opens.
