The new full-length album from Courtney Melba Barnett is called Things Take Time, Take Time. It has been three years of time since her last album, and you can hear Barnett going through some changes.

It’s a record of living alone, writing alone, you know, going through a reflective time. She had plenty of time to sit and do it during the pandemic.

I really love the song "Rae Street," the first song that we played from the record. There's another song called "Write a List of Things to Look Forward To," which is great advice. In fact, it's advice that Courtney Barnett received. So I'm glad that she turned that into a song.

The difference between this full-length record and her prior two is that she recorded those records with full bands. She brought in one collaborator for this new album, Warpaint drummer Stella Mozgawa. Mozgawa is the drummer, and also a producer credited on this record.

Barnett is going on tour in the new year. She's going to be at the Palace Theatre on January 22, 2022.
