Radio Heartland wants to know: What is your favorite Bob Dylan song?
April 22, 2021
On May 24, 1941, Robert Allen Zimmerman was born in St. Mary's Hospital in Duluth, Minnesota. After growing up in Hibbing, Minn., Zimmerman relocated first to Minneapolis, where he attended the University of Minnesota and began playing gigs in and around Dinkytown and the West Bank of Minneapolis. It's also where he took on the moniker Bob Dylan, inspired in part by Welsh poet Dylan Thomas.
From Minneapolis, Dylan moved on to New York, and not long thereafter, he came to belong to the world. Bob Dylan is now one of the most enduring and admired artists in music. To celebrate Dylan's 80th birthday — happening Monday, May 24, 2021 — Radio Heartland will feature your favorite Bob Dylan songs. Listen to Radio Heartland each weekday, 9 a.m. to noon CDT, leading up to and on Bob Dylan's birthday as Mike Pengra spins your picks.
