On a beautiful spring day, kids and their adults filled the Minneapolis Institute of Art yesterday for Rock the Cradle, our annual party for the Twin Cities' youngest music lovers. Once again, we were pleased to partner with our presenting sponsor Children's Minnesota.
DJs spun dance-able tunes in the Kids' Disco, pausing for performances by the Jolly Pops. Around the corner, the same hosts sat down for Pop-Up Storytime with books including some titles hand-picked by our colleagues at Call to Mind. In the Pillsbury Auditorium, Siama's Congo Roots took turns onstage with Classical Kids Storytime and a ukulele "strumalong" with Katy Vernon and Jim McGuinn.
Add beat making with DJ Kool Akiem, pop-up performances by 123 Balloonz, and you're still just scratching the surface of the fun activities families enjoyed. Check out the photo gallery below for a glimpse of how the day unfolded. Thanks to everyone who joined us, and don't forget: the dancing never has to stop. Our Rock the Cradle Radio stream is available on The Current app, via our website, and on your smart speaker.
