If you were a fan of the Ken Burns PBS series, Country Music, and you didn't quite get enough — never fear! Some local musicians, along with the Midwest Country Music Association, are taking over the River Room inside the Aster Café' in Minneapolis on the third Wednesday of the month for the next five months to present live country music from Minnesota musicians. They're also following the format of the Burns series by organizing the performances by time period.
The series begins Wednesday, Feb. 19, and Maygen Lacey, of Maygen Lacey and The Birdwatchers, is one of the people putting the series together. She's also performing at a few of the evenings, including this week's show. Maygen stopped in the Radio Heartland studio to spin a few records and to talk about the series.
