Charlie Parr captures #1 this week ahead of a sold out two night stand at the Cedar Cultural Center. and Angel Olsen moves up to #2 after a hotly reviewed show in Minneapolis, where she reportedly turned First Avenue into her own immersive world.
We lost Green Day this week, it's hard to believe that it's already been 25 years since the release of Dookie, they'll be playing at the American Music Awards on November 24 to honor anniversary. Of Monsters and Men also slipped off the chart this week, but the archive of their beautiful acoustic session with Mac Wilson from earlier this fall remains available! New entries from Michael Kiwanuka, last week's Album of the Week artist who New Hot host David Safar says, "embraces all his influences from Curtis Mayfield to Joni Mitchell, all while cementing his identity as a powerful voice capable of crafting songs that confront personal narratives and the human condition."
This week's Album of the Week review featured The Avett Brothers who entered the chart this week, Bill DeVille describes the record as, "branching out both musically and lyrically, but there's still plenty of that classic Avett sound to love." FKA Twigs joined the ranks as well this week, following her masterful Palace Theatre performance. Rufus Wainwright, who conjured up an Anna Wintour-inspired persona for his latest video, debuted at #20 with "Trouble In Paradise".
Big gainers this week are Chance The Rapper who spoke to Fast Company about taking a label-free route with his music, as well as Polica and Neil Young who all broke into the top of the chart.
Frank Turner hits his 8th week on The Chart edging closer to entering the Chart Show Hall of Fame.
