We're headed back to the land of fire and ice for a week of music by both up-and-coming and established global artists.

For a third year, Iceland Airwaves and Iceland Naturally have invited The Current to take part in Iceland Airwaves, a Reykjavik-based music festival that features Icelandic and international artists.

"Iceland Airwaves offers a unique blend of acts and provides a great opportunity for us to discover regional talent that have international promise," said David Safar, The Current's managing director. "We are honored to have been invited back to this incredible event and are looking forward identifying music that we can bring back to our Twin Cities community."

In addition to seeking out new music to share on our airwaves, we will host an official Day Party Nov. 8 & 9, featuring four acts per day at Reykjavik venue Hressingarskalinn with a live video feed for viewing across the globe and broadcast highlights throughout the weekend.

The Day Party lineup includes:

Friday Nov. 8
Between Mountains
Hachiku
JFDR
Boy Azooga

Saturday, Nov. 9
Graveyard Club
Pip Blom
Girl In Red (acoustic)
Penelope Isles
