Eilen Jewell performs songs from 'Gypsy' at Radio Heartland

I've been playing Eilen Jewell's records for years now, but it wasn't until I was preparing for this interview that I discovered she grew up intensely shy — especially with performing in public. As a child, piano recitals were a major source of stress, but as an adult, Jewell has managed to channel that excitement into her performance. And to take it a step further, she's been called "pissed off and blissed out" about her new album, Gypsy, which deals with the polarities of loving the road, but also loving being home with her family.
Eilen (pronounced EE-lin) Jewell and her band concluded a recent Midwest tour with a gig in the Twin Cities, before which they pulled into the Radio Heartland studio for a live session.
