IDLES, the British punk/post-punk band whose 2018 album Joy As An Act of Resistance took the U.S. by storm, played a live concert at the iconic Minneapolis venue First Avenue on Saturday, Aug. 3.

In addition to a set that featured many tracks from Joy As An Act of Resistance, IDLES also dipped into their back catalogue as well. And in a loving bow to First Avenue and to Minneapolis, IDLES even tipped their hats to Lizzo and to Prince. Audience member Teddy was invited onstage to lead the audience in an a cappella sing-along of "Purple Rain."

Throughout the show, IDLES shared their powerful punk message of love and acceptance. The enthusiastic crowd continued to ignite the band, and as the show neared its end, frontman Joe Talbot told the First Avenue audience, "I'm going to remember this night for the rest of my life."
