This year, Lizzo has now spent 12 weeks in total on top of our chart, that's over 30% of the time. But on Billboard charts only 22% of the hits are made by female artists. Last week the big Pitchfork festival claimed to have reached gender parity with it's performers, but there's still a ways to go. Lizzo was involved in an interesting discussion of how things can and should change in the music industry.

Meanwhile Billie Eilish has had to stay in Lizzo's shadow for the last nine weeks as they are both poised to get into The Chart Hall of Fame. Billie has been vocal about why she wears baggy clothes and now she has her own Freak City designed line of graffiti inspired clothing.

The Raconteurs stick at five this week and they'll be on Jimmy Kimmel Thursday night. Jack White chatted with Josh Homme of Queens of the Stone Age on his radio show, about baseball, identity politics and coffee!

The National are the highest new entry this week at #7. Their set from Rock The Garden is now archived.

Biggest upward movers this week are Fontaines D.C., that's the good news.... Bad news is they've cancelled 5 big festival dates this summer due to health issues.

New at twelve, Sam Fender is another artist who has had to cancel a festival show recently, Glastonbury! The BBC included him in an article about the dangers of busy schedules that todays musicians are asked to keep.

Both Of Monsters and Men and The Lumineers are inducted to the Hall of Fame this week for the fifth time. That puts them at #30 and 32 respectively on the All Time Hall of Fame. OMAM will be at The Surly Brewing Festival field on Sept 14th and their album comes out this Friday.

For the first time ever Steve Earle is new this week at twenty. His latest album is a tribute to his musical hero and mentor Guy Clark and this is the lead off track. Steve will be playing the Big Top in Bayfield on August 1st and The MN Zoo on the 2nd.

Submit your Chart Show ballot this week for a chance to win tickets to see Shakey Graves + Dr. Dog at Surly Brewing Festival Field on August 17, 2019.
