Coffee Break: Iceland
by Anna Weggel
May 02, 2019
This week we are celebrating the music and culture of Iceland. For the past couple years, The Current has ventured to Iceland Airwaves in Reykjavik to cover brand-new music. Now, we at The Current have invited some folks from Iceland to come to the Twin Cities.
It's all part of Taste of Iceland in Minneapolis, a series of events that includes a cocktail class on the rooftop bar at the Hewing Hotel, an Icelandic menu at the Red Stag Supper Club, and a free show on Friday night at the Fine Line Music Cafe showcasing Icelandic artists Kalan Mikla and Mammut, plus local band The Bad Man for another unique music exchange.
We're also giving you a chance to go to Iceland this coming November for the 2019 Iceland Airwaves music festival. Enter for your chance to win here.
So for today's 9:30 Coffee Break, what songs do you want to hear from Icelandic artists?
