by Anna Weggel
February 28, 2019
Jake Edwin Charles Kennedy, aka Jake Bugg, was born today in 1994, making him 25 today.
Bugg reportedly had a musical moment of inspiration at a young age after hearing Don McLean's "Vincent (Starry, Starry Night)" on an episode of The Simpsons. In 2011 at age 17, he was selected to perform on the "BBC Introducing" stage at the Glastonbury Festival after submitting material to their website, and he was then signed to Mercury Records.
He first visited the Current studios in 2013 at just 19 years old but at that point had already opened for Noel Gallagher and Snow Patrol out their 2012 tour.
So for today's 9:30 Coffee Break, what songs do you want to hear from bands with bug names?
