Mandolin Orange perform songs from 'Tides of a Teardrop' at Radio Heartland

February 20, 2019
Anyone who listens to Radio Heartland knows that I must be a fan of the North Carolina ensemble Mandolin Orange (true), and now it seems the music world now does a double-take when their music is mentioned. Andrew Marlin and Emily Frantz have been guests of ours in the studio twice before, and it's been fun to watch their career blossom. Their latest album, Tides of a Teardrop, dropped on February 1, and its success is taking Mandolin Orange all over the world on tour, with a Sept. 7, 2019, date scheduled at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville.
For their third visit to Radio Heartland, Mandolin Orange brought the whole band into the studio this time to play tunes and to talk about the making of the new record and the meaning behind the songs.
