Michael Jackson's family have issued a statement saying they're "furious" about a new documentary that details allegations of sexual abuse by the late pop star. The documentary, which runs almost four hours, just premiered at Sundance and will hit HBO in March.

The film is called Leaving Neverland, and centers on the stories of two men who say Jackson abused them when they were boys. The film's director, Dan Reed, acknowledges that the men previously denied having been abused, and even testified in court in Jackson's defense when the star faced other allegations of abuse. Speaking at Sundance, he explained, "That's why this film became four hours because it's a story you have to follow from the beginning and weave across two decades [...] it is so potentially confusing."

In their adamant statement, the Jackson family repeat their assertion that Jackson was "completely innocent" and add, "We are furious that the media, who without a shred of proof or single piece of physical evidence, chose to believe the word of two admitted liars over the word of hundreds of families and friends around the world who spent time with Michael, many at Neverland, and experienced his legendary kindness and global generosity." (Los Angeles Times)

Reviewers who saw the film at Sundance say the allegations in the film are specific, credible, and disturbing. Indiewire writes, "You'll never listen to Michael Jackson the same way again. In fact, you may never listen to Michael Jackson again at all."

Psy scoops K-pop stars for new label

Regular listeners will remember us talking about the K-pop stars HyunA and E'Dawn, who left their label last year after they opened up about the fact that they're dating, a revelation that broke a common K-pop rule against stars having any public romantic commitments. Now, the duo have been signed to a new label founded by Psy, the K-pop star who had a massive international breakthrough with his single "Gangnam Style."

The relationship is testing the genre's norms, just as bands like BTS are fueling massive growth for the genre. Their former label, Cube, faced so much public outrage when it dropped the duo that its stock price took a hit. It later un-fired HyunA and E'Dawn, but the damage was done and they left anyway. Vampire Weekend and the Who announce big shows

Ezra Koenig was just hanging out at the New York Knicks game at Madison Square Garden on Sunday night when — surprise! — the venue announced that Koenig's band Vampire Weekend will be playing a show there on Sept. 6. Their new album, Father of the Bride, is due out this spring. (Pitchfork)

MSG is a big venue for Vampire Weekend, but when you're the Who, you have to go even bigger...especially when you're bringing an entire symphony orchestra along for the ride, with Eddie Vedder and the Kaiser Chiefs as openers. That whole situation has just booked a July 6 show at Wembley Stadium, the first U.K. show to be announced as part of the Who's "Moving On" tour. If it's not convenient for you to get to London, the Who might be coming to an arena near you: they've already announced the tour's North American dates. (Rolling Stone)

Film composer Michel Legrand dies at 86

Composer and pianist Michel Legrand has died at age 86. He collaborated with greats including Miles Davis and Liza Minnelli, and he's best-known for the film work that earned him three Academy Awards to put on the shelf next to his five Grammys.

Legrand's résumé includes writing "The Windmills of Your Mind," from the original Thomas Crown Affair movie in 1968; it won the Oscar for Best Original Song. He also scored the classic pop-opera movie The Umbrellas of Cherbourg (1964) and won a Best Original Score Oscar for the 1983 Barbra Streisand movie Yentl.

He even landed on the pop charts with his own recording of his theme to Brian's Song, the 1972 TV movie starring James Caan and Billy Dee Williams. (New York Times)

Rent Live was...not so live after all

Most professional theater productions have understudies ready to step in if there's an injury, but apparently Fox didn't think that was necessary for its live televised production of Rent on Sunday night. That meant that when lead actor Brennin Hunt seriously injured his foot during a dress rehearsal, the would-be live broadcast had to rely heavily on video shot during rehearsal.

Only about the last 15 minutes were live, as original Rent Broadway stars including Idina Menzel, Taye Diggs, and Anthony Rapp joined the cast for "Seasons of Love." (New York Times)

Today's viral clip: Endearing young fan joins Marc Anthony onstage

Today's viral clip is one of those moments that's always a little chancy. Sure, a dancing kid can be real cute in the audience when no one's watching, but what happens in that terrifying moment when a star pulls the kid onstage?

What happened was pure magic in the case of salsa-pop star Marc Anthony, who was playing a show in Anaheim last week when he spotted a little girl in a pink dress dancing enthusiastically to his song "Vivir Mi Vida." He invited her up onstage, and she rocked it so well that the headliner himself had to wipe a tear. He later shared the moment on Instagram. (Billboard)
