Jade Bird performs a MicroShow at the James J. Hill House
June 18, 2018
May 20, 2018, was a beautiful spring day in the Twin Cities, but 100 lucky winners chose to spend a portion of the afternoon indoors at the James J. Hill House in St. Paul, where singer-songwriter Jade Bird performed a captivating MicroShow filled back-to-back with fantastic songs and witty stage banter.
"I feel a little bit underdressed in the grand hall," Bird told the audience, clearly impressed by the Victorian opulence of the James J. Hill House. "This is what you get after two months out of a suitcase; I was like, 'I'll put me smart shirt on!'"
Bird launched into her hit single, "Lottery," then led the audience through a generous set of her original songs — including one, "Furious," that released the week of the show. Jade Bird also performed a rip-roaring cover of Johnny Cash's "I've Been Everywhere." After every song in the set, the audience roared their appreciation.
