Check out 'Music to Watch,' a new music discussion feature
March 13, 2018
Music to Watch is a new feature from The Current where host Sean McPherson checks in with a couple other people who help program music for audiences: Kateri Palen, music segment producer, and Brian Stack, writer and actor, both of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on CBS.
In this introductory episode, Sean gets to know Brian and Kateri a bit — including the fact that Kateri grew up right in Minneapolis and graduated from De La Salle High School.
The music discussion this week covers a range of artists, including David Byrne, Chance the Rapper, Brandi Carlile, Courtney Barnett and Kurt Vile, and Julien Baker. There's also discussion of R.E.M.'s Out of Time, released on this date (March 12) in 1991.
And we'll also hear about the time Neil Young met Frankenstein. Watch and listen to the complete program above.
