Lady Lark gets the Minnesota State Fair dancing during her Local Show session

"Getting Minnesotans to dance is kind of hard, if you haven't noticed," Lady Lark told Andrea Swensson. But she manages it just fine. On Sept. 1, she and her band celebrated the Minnesota State Fair's MPR Day with a live performance and Local Show taping at Dan Patch Park. By the third song, everyone from grandpas to three-year-olds were on their feet.
Lady Lark is a pop/soul talent coming out of her cocoon, bringing "joyful, fun, sexy" music to audiences across the state and the country. At her shows, she says, you can dance like no one is watching, because they'll all be looking at her (video and anecdotal evidence from the Fair prove her right). On Friday, between songs like "Love (Is Just A Game)" and "Got Me Goin'," she told Andrea Swensson about her new EP Love and her identity as Lady Lark.
Watch or listen to Lady Lark's set to experience what might've been the most groove to ever flood Dan Patch Park. To get to know the band a bit better, read The Current's interview with Lady Lark, guitarist Oran Chan, and keyboardist Kyle Pleggenkuhle here.
