My DJ Pick of the Week is "Can I Sit Next To You," by Spoon.

The second single from the forthcoming Hot Thoughts finds its snaky way into my heart in the same way the groove and funk of "I Turn My Camera On" (off 2005's Gimme Fiction) did.

Spoon have always felt the funk and hypnotically swing in the sweetest of pockets. "Can I Sit Next to You" could be a distant relative of The Stones' "Emotional Rescue." I for one am not complaining.
