Coffee Break: Bubblegum Pop
February 03, 2017
The first Friday in February means it's Bubblegum Day. We're going to take a spin on this theme for today's Coffee Break and focus on music that is categorized as "bubblegum pop".
Bubblegum pop is music with a repetitive, upbeat sound, singalong choruses, simple chords and harmonies. It's dancy, it's fun, it's light, and it had its heyday in the '60s and '70s. Whether the songs were one hit wonders or lighthearted moments in a more significant band's career, let's get poppy.
So for today's 9:30 Coffee Break, what bubblegum pop songs do you want to hear?
