Friday Five: Atmosphere, Hippo Campus, and more new Minnesota music videos
December 09, 2016
Atmosphere, "A Long Hello"
"After a forever of running around the world and making music, we will now take a month off to sit on the beach of our minds," Slug says in a recent press release. He and Ant (well, a cardboard cutout) wade into the surf as they bid you "A Long Hello."
Hippo Campus, "Monsoon (Live)"
MN Original captured Hippo Campus performing "Monsoon" at the Landmark Center. Their debut full-length Landmark (catch that?) comes out Feb. 24, and you can expect the full MN Original session in January.
Guitar Party, "Phantom Banana"
The Ylvisakers are laying the tracks for a local music dynasty here. Twelve-year-old Mijah Ylvisaker, Jeremy's daughter, fronts Guitar Party, who have just released a new video for "Phantom Banana." They'll follow up 2010's Birthday with a full-length next year; don't miss their slot at Dosh & Friends on Dec. 10.
Andy Cook, "Wings"
Speaking of Jeremy Ylvisaker: he produced this song by Andy Cook, who unravels a touching tune in this split-screen soother. Joined by Jourdan Myers, Zach Brose, and Al Church, Cook teases new album In Space, which "lands" Feb. 10, 2017. A Turf Club show is soon to be announced for the same month.
Primal Feelings, "Ghostin'"
House parties and pink hair and onimous organ! Don't miss this fun video from Primal Feelings and director Conner Evert (who also directed Ness Nite's "Yes").
