Prince's 1987 classic Sign "O" the Times is among this year's inductees into the Grammy Hall of Fame. The album enters the hall alongside 24 additional titles including Elvis Presley's "Jailhouse Rock," David Bowie's "Changes," and N.W.A.'s Straight Outta Compton.
"The Grammy Hall Of Fame was established by the Recording Academy's National Trustees in 1973 to honor recordings of lasting qualitative or historical significance that are at least 25 years old," explains the Recording Academy, which announced this year's inductees yesterday.
Below, see a complete list of this year's inductees. If the news puts you in the Sign "O" the Times spirit, you can see the concert film this Saturday night at Paisley Park — screened on the very soundstage where much of it was filmed, with the car grill from the album's cover on display nearby.
There's another Paisley Park connection in the list of this year's inductees: R.E.M.'s "Losing My Religion" is from the album Out of Time, which was mixed at Paisley Park.
