Paisley Park says it has been granted another temporary permit to open for tours on select days. Tickets are now on sale for tours taking place this coming Thursday, Oct. 13 and Saturday, Oct. 15. The venue was previously granted a temporary permit that allows it to be open on Oct. 14; the three days coincide with the tribute concert taking place at the Xcel Energy Center on Thursday, with many fans expected to travel from out-of-state.
The proprietors of Prince's studio are still in talks with the City of Chanhassen about what needs to be put in place for the City Council to rezone the site, allowing it to open permanently to the public. A meeting between Paisley Park representatives and city staff is scheduled for tomorrow, Oct. 12.
Under the initial temporary permit, Paisley Park opened to the public for the first time as a museum last Thursday, Oct. 6. Read Jay Gabler's report on his tour, and Andrea Swensson's reflection on returning to the venue as a tourist after visiting Prince there during his lifetime. Prince's family has now released photos of the custom urn where Prince's cremated remains are held, on display in the central atrium of Paisley Park.
