As the Oct. 6 opening day approaches, Paisley Park has unveiled official artwork and its first merchandise — including, yes, a Paisley Park tote bag. The venue is also selling tasting plates of Prince's favorite foods, prepared by his personal chef.
Fans who hold tickets for opening day are being invited to purchase "Opening Day Exclusive" packages. For $38, you get a t-shirt, a tote, and a mini-poster. All feature the new artwork, which has a Prince silhouette looking down on a stylized view of Paisley Park against a purple sky.
Paisley Park is also selling sampling plates for "Prince's Favorite Foods: A Taste Experience." For $12.50, you can guarantee that your Paisley Park tour (tickets sold separately) will include "several of Prince’s favorite foods on your tour at Paisley Park, prepared by Prince’s personal chef, Juell Roberts, just as she made them for the legendary musician." All are vegetarian, of course.
"A limited number of these plates will be available each day," the fine print explains. "Because of the sold-out nature of Opening Day, tasting plates may only be available to those who pre-order. We highly recommend reserving your plate now."
While details regarding the Oct. 13 tribute concert have just come together, the Paisley Park opening has been moving forward in a very organized and deliberate manner, with staff from Graceland helping to steer the ship. Last week, a job fair welcomed the first applicants to work at Prince's studio and performance space.
