If you've always dreamed of working at Paisley Park, you might just get your chance: the former studio and home of Prince is opening jobs for staff members to help shepherd the public tours that begin Oct. 6. There will be a job fair at Chanhassen Dinner Theatres this coming Thursday and Friday. "Positions include general manager, tour operations, security, merchandise and marketing," notes the Associated Press via MPR News.
Pretenders announce new album
The Pretenders are releasing a new album on Oct. 21 — and then they're going on tour with Stevie Nicks. Alone, recorded with Dan Auerbach in Nashville, is the band's first all-new studio album since 2008. (The Current)
Nicks will headline the 24 Karat Gold tour, named after her latest album; the tour opens Oct. 25 in Phoenix and stops at the Xcel Energy Center on Dec. 6. Nicks is rooting for Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton in this fall's presidential election. "When she wins by a landslide," says Nicks, "I could gather together the Dixie Chicks, Billy Corgan and everybody who’s ever sung a version of 'Landslide.' It's not up-tempo, but it certainly would get the message across." (Rolling Stone)
Springsteen opens up about depression
In a cover story for Vanity Fair, Bruce Springsteen opens up about a struggle with depression in recent years. He also says that his forthcoming memoir Born to Run deals extensively with his relationship with his father. How about new music? Count on it, says the Boss: a new album, a pop record in the vein of richly instrumented 1960s singer-songwriter releases, is completed, simply awaiting Springsteen having time to promote it. He also says that he and the E Street Band have no plans to stop touring together. (Billboard)
Ono to reissue solo catalog
Yoko Ono has announced plans to reissue her studio albums, originally recorded from 1968 through 1985. The 11 studio albums will be reissued in replicas of their original packaging, and they will be released digitally for the first time. The first three reissues hit stores on Nov. 11, with the rest to follow in 2017. (Pitchfork)
When a Smith meets a Cranberry

Ice Cube reacts to former manager's death
There were no words of reconciliation from Ice Cube in the wake of the death of former N.W.A. manager Jerry Heller, who had been at odds with the rapper and most of the rest of the group since the band's dissolution in 1991. "I ain't gonna pop no champagne, but I ain't gonna shed no tears either," Cube told a Detroit radio station. "It is what it is. We come here to pass, and he's outta here." (Rolling Stone)
