On Sunday night at the Rose Bowl, Coldplay invited James Corden to join them onstage for a cover of Prince’s "Nothing Compares 2 U." It being Corden's birthday, the band brought a cake out to give to the TV host after their duet. (Stereogum)

Warpaint have relocated a planned Sept. 29 Varsity Theater show to the Fine Line Music Cafe, citing concern over allegations of abuse involving Varsity owner Jason McLean. Previously, Against Me! and Baroness relocated Varsity gigs for the same reason. (City Pages)
Bowie gets plaque in Berlin
The city of Berlin has unveiled a plaque marking the building where David Bowie lived with Iggy Pop from 1976 to 1978. The plaque quotes lyrics from Bowie's song "Heroes," the title track to one of the albums in Bowie's acclaimed "Berlin trilogy." (Pitchfork)

Having previously alleged that Demi Lovato’s song "Stars" contains a sample from their song "Infinity Guitars," Sleigh Bells are now suing Lovato along with her label and producers Carl Falk and Rami Yacoub. "A comparison of the two songs reveals that, at the very least, the combination of the hand claps and bass drum, structured as 3 quarter beats and a rest, with the bass drum providing a counter-rhythm to the hand claps, is at least substantially similar in both work," reads the complaint filed in California federal court. The producers of a new documentary about Howlin' Wolf are howlin' foul, saying Dan Auerbach walked away from the project and left them holding the bag. Smokestack Lightning Inc., the film's production company, is suing Auerbach for breaching a verbal agreement; the producers allege that Auerbach agreed to direct the film but then backed out after making unreasonable demands. Rateliff performs living-room gig for sick fan
Nathaniel Rateliff visited a young fan's living room to play his song "Wasting Time" since she is fighting an immunodeficiency disease and couldn't go out to see him elsewhere. "It was a great surprise and we all had a pretty darn good time," said the girl's uncle, who invited Rateliff. "I already thought they were great guys, but they just proved it without a doubt." Metallica, Roger Waters booked for Bridge School benefit
Neil Young’s annual Bridge School benefit concert will be headlined this year by Metallica and Roger Waters — in addition to Young himself, with other artists including Willie Nelson, Cage the Elephant, My Morning Jacket, and Norah Jones. The benefit takes place Oct. 22 and 23 in Mountain View, Calif. (Rolling Stone)
